DEVELOPMENT OF INNOVATIVE SYSTEMS FOR FOOD PROCESSING

This trajectory aims at the introduction of new and innovative techniques in the field of food processing, such as for example regarding refrigeration, freezing, the transport of agri-food products, or their transformation into “ready-to-use” products.

INNOVATIVE AND MORE SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING FOR AGRI-FOOD PRODUCTS

This trajectory involves interventions for the development of innovative and more sustainable packaging for agri-food products. The trajectory includes non-invasive solutions for in-line and laboratory control of packaging integrity and for the detection of contaminants and foreign bodies in food products; the use of materials (including “active” ones) that do not release contaminants into food; innovative solutions and higher-performing sensors for improving the shelf life of agri-food products and for identifying potential contamination; the development of innovative natural preservatives (e.g., biofilms, phytoextracts, etc.); innovative solutions for monitoring the cold chain.

DEVELOPMENT OF METHODS AND TECHNOLOGIES IN FAVOR OF INTEGRATED SYSTEMS BETWEEN AGRI-FOOD, TOURISM, AND ECOLOGY

This trajectory is dedicated to innovative interventions for the integration of various agri-food, tourism, and environmental protection activities, aimed at the socio-economic valorization of the territory. This context also includes innovations that can enhance prestigious agricultural-forestry productions to provide production continuity and life to the areas involved. Supporting this trajectory, applications of innovative digital technologies can intervene for the multifunctional valorization of territorial and cultural heritage, also compatible with international certification systems.
