All the universities present in RIBES-Nest

Companies and Knowledge Subjects (Universities and Research Centers) that adopt the innovative network model participate in RIBES-Nest to increase the development of several high-innovation sectors.

The UniVeneto Foundation was established in November 2011. Its founding members are the four Universities of Veneto; Confindustria Veneto also currently participates as a member. The Foundation’s mission is the promotion and coordination of the educational offer and research activities of the Veneto university system and the development of its relations with public institutions, economic bodies, and the business system. To encourage and support the territory in participating in research and innovation actions and project proposals and to enhance research results, the Foundation’s Board of Directors has prepared, by appointing a specific commission, an intervention plan for the regional territory where UniVeneto plays the role of coordination and representation of the Veneto Universities and acts as a link with local entities and businesses in actions concerning European structural and social funds and national funds for research, innovation, and territorial development.

It is among the most well-known universities in Italy and among the oldest (1222) in the world. It has more than 60,000 students in over 150 degree courses, 4,400 professors, researchers, research fellows, and doctoral students, and approximately 150 laboratories across 32 departments and 41 research centers. Ranked among the best universities in Italy for research quality, it also provides many research services to third parties. UNIPD is an important partner of the network, thanks to the direct contribution of the Departments/Centers participating in the initiative (BCA, DAFNAE, TESAF, DiSC, DSB, DIMED, DSF, DII, DFA, DB, CRIBI) and its consolidated experience in collaborating with local businesses in the context of various research initiatives applied to the (agri-)food sectors. Thanks to the multidisciplinarity and the frontier positioning of its research, particularly in the life sciences sector, UNIPD will provide proactive support for the design and implementation of network projects, contributing to broadening the research vision of the companies involved and facilitating the integration of young researchers and the enhancement of their skills.
